Krysti Shallenberger
Research and Communications Manager

Krysti Shallenberger is a research and communications manager for the Energy and Policy Institute. She has spent a decade immersed in energy issues and natural resource extraction issues throughout the United States in various roles as a reporter and editor for E&E News, Utility Dive and Alaska’s Energy Desk, and as a public affairs manager for Sunrun’s policy team.
Her work has been published in various outlets, including NPR’s All Things Considered, Here and Now, Audubon, National Native News, Deutsche Welle and Southerly Magazine. Her work has been recognized by her peers at the Society for Professional Journalists and Alaska Press Club.
In her role at Sunrun, she helped advocate for pro-home solar and battery solutions in key markets, working closely with coalitions and organizations to push clean energy solutions to the forefront for consumers.
Krysti graduated with a BA in English at Birmingham Southern College, and holds a Master’s in environmental journalism from the University of Montana.
