Daniel Tait

Research and Communications Director

Daniel Tait is a Research and Communications Director for the Energy and Policy Institute and leads the team covering electric and gas utility issues in the Southeast.

Daniel is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and was previously named an International Young Energy Professional of the Year by the Association of Energy Engineers, where he remains a member. He serves on the board of directors at Neighborhood Concepts, a non-profit organization strengthening neighborhoods through the creation of affordable housing and the advancement of economic opportunities in North Alabama. He is also the Executive Director of Energy Alabama, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization advancing Alabama’s transition to clean energy through education and advocacy.

Daniel is a graduate of Leadership Huntsville/Madison County’s Connect Program and the Alabama Leadership Initiative. He graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a degree in International Trade and Foreign Language. He lives in Huntsville with his wife and two children.
