Peabody Energy is a coal mining company headquartered in St. Louis, MO. The company has mines in the Powder River Basin, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, New Mexico, and Australia. In 2016, Peabody Energy disclosed previously secret payments to multiple groups involved in attacks on climate science and clean energy policies after filing for bankruptcy.
