ExxonMobil businesses explore and produce oil and methane gas, manufacture, trade, transport, market, and sell these fossil fuels or other petroleum products and petrochemicals. It is a member of many trade associations and front groups engaging in utility and climate issues, including the American Petroleum Institute, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and Consumer Energy Alliance. There are at least 30 lawsuits filed by state attorneys general, cities, counties and tribal nations against companies over the damages caused by climate change including ExxonMobil.
